Overall, this is an amazingly smart product. There are many systems on the market now that make it even simpler by automation. They are smarter than you give them credit for.
The aero garden farm allows you to grow a variety of veggies and start them from seed. The tomato plants are a good size but haven't flowered, yet. The aerogarden has very nice lighting and it offers a nice amount of space for plants to grow.
You tell the app what plants you are growing and it schedules the light hours. The app includes a calendar to help us know when to harvest.

Cons
As the impeller increases its vibrations due to suspension and roots in the water, it sets up an obnoxious growling noise. The light is giving off a hissing sound, i am unsure if this product is dangerous to continue using.

Competitiveness
Have used aerogarden seed pods and fertilizer in this system which work well
Update after more than 3 yearsi got this system in may 2019 and am into my 4th summer using it to grow mostly lettuce and herbs
Its a nice system overall but unlike my aerogarden the pump in the twelve never stops running

The watering system can be very loud if you dont have the ports filled

If you find that you are using less than all of them put the empty inserts into the empty ports
