In regard to the jump ring i did detect a small opening where the circle does not quite meet

When placed to the lips and blown the whistle produces an audibly loud shrill and abrupt whistling noise

This is really loud loud enough that it hurts my ears but i am reassured that should i need to send a signal if lost camping this whistle would certainly be heard
