I did have to plug in the usb cable that came with the converter into my pi

It works with my osmc install on my pi just fine and almost seems like better video quality between the new pi and the converter

    Used it to connect a roku express to an older crt tv that did not have a digital tuner picture and sound are great i also connected it to a hdmi output of my laptop and did not get a picture on the crt tv however did not spend a lot of time to figure it out why it did not work

    Update to original review i have another crt tv with a digital tuner connected my laptop hdmi output to the mini hdmi to av and then to the video inputs in the digital crt tv and the sound and picture was i believe better on the tv than my laptop

    I ordered this to allow me to convert that hdmi signal to rca so i could then convert it to coax to broadcast to the rest of my house

    I also experienced the screen black out thing where every few min it would flash black for a second then return to normal
