Pros
Home depot sells the hd 12. Ah battery and charger. Works great for the chainsaw and handheld blower. Driving a dually and having a large yard, maximum run time is a priority for both tools.
Milwaukee makes a number of different chargers. The included charger is essentially a freebie as part of this combo. The rapid charger definitely charges all my batteries quicker including my 12v batteries.

The charger is a lot quicker than the older ones the quality is consistently good
It runs off normal m18 batteries but this battery is even better with the chainsaw and blower
With the 12ahr battery i do less charging

All in all a very good deal and a very good price

Competitiveness
If youre just buying into milwaukees m18 system and need both a 12 ah battery and a charger this is definitely the best way to do it
This seems to be the only charger included in milwaukees kits but it is not the one i would choose if i were buying a charger separately
It charges more slowly than their 120v brethren but they allow charging from vehicles
One other note about the included charger and i would guess all of their other 120v m18 chargers you cant use them with an inverter

Con still not enough power and too much heat for things like the chain saw charger gets pretty warm dont know if that requires better efficiency or a little builtin cooling the price is competitive but it is still too high

I do not own nor do i expect to own any m12 tools so its ability to charge both types is wasted on me

Milwaukee makes both of these chargers the latter being referred to as a super charger for not much more than they asks for the included charger when it is sold separately
