Ive got two of these on exterior doors and they work great even though they are meant for interior doors

I also had to use a blade to shape the square shaped plate that fits in the door latch as mine was originally oval shaped

Yes it does make a sound when pushing the buttons and when it unlocks but nothing too extreme
