Pros
Comes hard but when its opens. Won't get damaged.
Price is a bit high but considering the flavor variety you get as well as the individually packaged bars makes up for it. Good assortment by numbers. Well worth the price.
The texture is a very soft crumble when you chew it. Taste is a cross between shortbread cookie and marzipan. It's only hard because the oxygen is out and it’s in a mylar bag.
Cons
Shoddy business practices and customer disrespect. Sending out old product is unprofessional and unacceptable. They need to make this right.

Individual packaging makes it so i can keep them at home in the workplace and in my truck
The heavy foil packaging protects the bars from heat and cold allowing them to be kept where you might need them
Moreover unlike the sos lifeboat rations they are packaged individually
Hard to open due to the thickness off the packaging

They store well in temp extremes unlike many other similar products
Make no mistake the other brands taste better
The bars are inexpensive when compared to similar products and seem like they would probably keep beyond the promised 5 years

Overall id say these bars do what they set out for which is to give you quick absorption calories in a pinch which means energy for you to keep going in an emergency overall the flavors are acceptable but i wouldnt be picky about it honestly but the only complaint if i honestly have is the worst tasting flavor in the batch is the orange flavored bar but thats honestly because ive never been a fan of oranges but as i said i wouldnt be picky about it still its just a personal preference in flavor aside from that the best way i could describe how they taste was like a very dense sweet shortbread cookie bar thats slightly granular and crumbly with more of the essence of its intended flavors

Honestly if i had to give a recommendation for these id say ask yourself if you need something with a 5 year shelf life roughly what application would you need it for and would you be fine with a more accessible option stuff youd find at your grocery stores and more commercially available products cause they may suit your needs better
