Although the game is part of the series it has nothing to do with any of the previous games other than the fact battles are turnbased and its in a fantasy world setting

It does have a few unit and building references but apart from that it pretty much stands apart from the series

You essentially are presented with a randomized battlefield of various units with different colors that you have to match up to create attack and defense formations
