The bristles barely reach the sides of the bottle or the bottom. They do not touch near the bend at the top of the jug coming up to the spout at all. May be fine for other gallon bottles but definitely not intended for a one gallon glass jug.

However i soon learned about the magic of oxyclean and i thought this rendered this product somewhat useless however just yesterday i had the most crustiest leftover barley beer trub ever oxyclean alone couldnt touch it
