You can mute/unmute the speaker and microphone and control the speaker volume with handy controls on top of the unit.

Much better than wearing headphones annoying or using the computer speakers where the sound quality is blah
But the sound quality was superb kind of like opera but without all that crazy singing
The first one did not have good sound quality and i returned it
