Pros
Using two 60w bulbs, there is plenty of light to read by. I love the soft, amber, lighting this kind of shade provides. It’s a beautiful glow that you can see from outside.
The shades are mica, which is a natural material made from the shells of a type of beetle. They are not 'plastic,' as some reviewers have reported. Looks great with my antiques.
For those familiar with the myst books and video games, this feels like it is right out of a myst scene-so cool! My favorite lamp in my house right now. It fit just right in the foyer of my craftsman almost 100-year-old house.
Lamp is awesome for the money. I love it although it is a bit spendy. Very satisfied with this accent lamp.

The base is some sort of compressed sand composition, which has started to disintegrate. The pic has a red hue, and the description on the shade says red.
