The part that really set them apart is the silver trim piece metras is painted silver and is screwed in the dash piece from behind where the screw heads can not be seen or felt

The way the metra kit is fabricated will make this chore easier as you can easily remove the entire silver trim peice to work on the dash piece separately

The way the front surface is shaped will allow the 8in screen to sit on a flatter surface and not require cutting into compound curves like the ai kit would require
