Pros & Cons

Pros

The build quality is superb and it controls the aperture on my lens seamlessly. You'll get a little more vignetting when zoomed all the way in but it isn't anything that cannot in post. Worth every penny for photography.

This is the best item you can buy for your sony a7rii or a7riii if you have canon glass. All my canon l glass and sigma ef art lens’s work beautifully with my sony a 7s3. This works on my sony a6300 and my old canon 70-300 4-5. It works great with sev...  Read More

My canon digital gear is old (1dsii is my best body) and i don't have any canon lens designs from after roughly 2000. L is, not the mk ii (sad) two lenses that were really struggling with the sigma are my canon 85mm f1. I and my canon 200mm f 1.

It focuses quickly and holds focus on wildlife and landscapes (my interest) the autofocus seems pretty fast but it does occasionally hunt. However, af still requires a (usually fairly quick) cd hunt every time, even if the subject is already in focus....  Read More

Cons

Green mode seems okay at first until you find out the only two focus points you have is center, wide area, and flex spot. This adapter is nearly useless. The sigma mc-11 has better autofocus speed and accuracy.

Quality

Connected to my sony a7riii works very well with all my canon l lenses

In short it does work with the two lenses i have tired to date

I did not have too much expectations with this product but wanted to give it a shot mainly for the 200mm

However the build quality is superb and it controls the aperture on my lens seamlessly

Price

Metabones is known for their design and this adapter doesn’t disappoint

Keeping the adapter will more than justify the cost 399 if these two lenses continue to operate as well as they have over the past few days

I think it would be perfect if it cost 100 less

Shipping

Just take it slow and do your research

Packaging/appearance

Competitiveness

I got this to use with a sony a7r iii to a canon 24105 f4 and it works pretty good

I found a good deal on a tamron 70200 2

Sigma hunts no exif data and very primitive compared to metabones v

Contrast detect cd seems to work better on sony a7iii firmware 3
