I think this is because there is no reinforcement band on the edge that is inserted around the perimeter like the originals

I dont remember how the original sony product felt to offer an accurate comparison but i can wear these for a long time without issues

They lack the color coding redblue of the original but you can already tell that much from the picture

In the end they werent terribly hard to put on it helps to have the old ones still on or around so you can match them

Not hard to install but if you move the headphones around on your head at all for comfort the pads start to come off
