The materials are more durable than any shoes i've ever had. The heel is wide for me, but i get used to it as they break in. Always great shoes. Hope it keeps my feet dry for tge extra cost!

Had purchased a couple pairs of the unknown brands hiking shoes that look good but they were very uncomfortable to walk in and returned those the next day

Don’t wear these with wool socks though it will ruin the extra padding on the inside of the shoe

Gortex might not be needed for your use so you could conceivably save some money
