It is fully lined in cotton the straps are real supple oiled leather the canvas is broken in and not stiff and best of all this bag can be waxed like a fjall raven bag all you have to do is just buy canvas wax from a hunting or outdoors supplier and put a hair dryer or heat gun to it

Kept looking for a messenger bag and when i would find one that looked decent was either sold out or too big
