In the nicest terms this book is belabored, repetitive and redundant. There is nothing in the book that acknowledges toxic conditioning or the disease of conformity. There are some truths but it's a bad book unless you want to be a stepford wife.
All too often, these kind of men offer the type of solution that's a thinly veiled attempt to get her to shut up. Is gray casually admitting that men enter relationships not being interested in the point of said ventures, under false pretences?
Men react in an unsupportive manner. Men purposely misinterpret women's statements and use them as license to attack her further. Men also purposely underestimate how bad their behavior is.

He mistakenly assumes she is resisting the content of his point of view, when really his unloving delivery is what upsets her. He doubles down the effort to stuff it back down her * and get her to ignore his telltale tone of voice.

To be honest i understand why so many reviewers are frustrated with many assumptions in the book and i took a star away for that reason such as assuming that most women are housewives or a lot of huge generalizations for both genders and gender roles
