Unscrew the top screw and using a low friction grease i used park tools blue grease the stuff i use for my mountain bike grease the small cylinder the slides on the screw inside and out grease the inside of the ring terminal grease the unthreaded portion of the screw and youre done

There is a light coat of gloss or wood sealer on the handles

Since it is a metal on metal swivel system it does make noise while it spins but i tune out the noise while jumping

The jump rope does come tightly packaged so i had to let it hang with the handles down for a day so it straightened out but after that it has been straight and snag free

I wouldnt consider this a speed rope at all although some other folks called it that

Although the rope is adjustable it doesnt have somewhere to store the spare so you have to cut it and hope you dont cut it too short
