Pros & Cons
Pros
The band loves it. Bright and loud. Great percussion instrument. Good sound and a beautiful instrument.
Best for holding vertices and shaking side to side. Straight up for a long delay, more horizontal for a shorter delay. The only thing i’m slightly concerned about is the longevity of the padded grip.
The tone is amazing and you can control the decay by how you angle the tambourine. The decay is longer than with non-brass tambours.
Highlights
Quality
This meini tambourine is so comfortable to hold feels pretty sturdy and the combo of brass and steel makes a great sound
Solidly made with great tone and pitch quality
Got tired of buying rhythm techs and replacing them every few months because they fall apart
It’s made of that material that kinda dissolves with the heat and swear from your hand
Price
Well worth the extra few bucks from a cheap one
After purchasing a tambourine at half the price of this one and finding it so uncomfortable i took a chance on this one
Its pricey but worth every penny on the heavy side tho
I wanted a percussion instrument for worship and bought a cheaper one which i didn’t like
Packaging/appearance
The tambourine itself came in a very nice package with no damage to it or the meinl brand packaging inside
Should have come with a storage bag
Competitiveness
Comparing this with a another tambourine that i use in our band it’s heavier and has a higher ring to it
The only con its kind of heavy comparing to traditional tambourines i had before
