Pros
This machine is all that it professes to be and more - it literally comes out of the box ready to go, just plug and play - a lifesaver to be sure.
Very satisfied with the quality, sharp picture, and compact size. The remote's * are a bit small for my eyes, but i can live with that! Only complaint is small remote control *. Use high quality batteries and aim the remote at the dvd player.
Has worked flawlessly for 6 months thus far. Works perfectly. No problems using hdmi cable. For that, it works fine.
Sony tvs accept nearly everything while samsungs are particularly picky. Better than expected as the sony dvd player in my bedroom has a slow interface to play disc after a bit of a wait. It play audio files from usb, a great plus.
Cons
The remote control is minuscule, and is extremely inconvenient to use. You have to press the button firmly mostly 2 or 3 times to pause, stop or to rewind. Also there was no way to remove the subtitles, it now locks up and pixelates.
Picture quality is awful; colors appear distorted, and the footage isn't even smooth! The sound quality is also a bit odd. No disc turning sound could be heard. Nine times out of 10 you get a disk error message.

Long story short it turns out my toddler was messing with the remote and changed the set up
