Pros
Easy installation from roof top with no need to disassemble from inside. Fast and easy install. This video is much more informative than the included instructions.
Easy 5 minute swap & works great. Just replace the mechanism, only took 20 minutes to do including all prep time. It is important to remove the two screws opposite the gear or you could break that retainer.
This replaces an all plastic original with a pot metal one. This product is a much better upgrade from original. Quality of metal seems to match the original and will likely fracture with time and use as the original did.
Cons
When the part fails, it doesn't just 'break', it crumbles into pieces. Overall, casting has a pronounced crack near one of the mounting screw holes.

Its the short shaft model so i had to swap out the extended worm gear shaft from the original to make it work but it was easy to do as this replacement is screwed together unlike the riveted original

Then i read someone’s review that said the worm from my old one could be easily installed in this one

Next remove the right side bracketslide the life through this is where one other person helping you would be great if not i adjusted mine to be closed then hooked ever up and then opened it from the inside then got back on the roof and reinstalled the cover
