The light on it is not reading strength so you maybe need a bedside lamp aswell

Some things to consider are the light is not warm white yellowish as in the picture but rather cool white blueish which is not sunlike and its not great there are only 4 steps for the light increase and it changes every few minutes depending on the total time that you configure on the alarm

It does the job its not indistinguishable from a real sunrise like the philips version and its also at least 4 times cheaper
