It's also more resistant to breakage. I feel that people who complained about it breaking may have been over anxious about getting the butter out and over tightened it. I hope it is durable because it is a bit expensive for a plastic gadget.
This is a very usefull little device that does exactly what it claims to do. Works just like it should. Accomplishes both of those things and is a great price. It is a pro.
The video shows just how awful the other version is in comparison. Overall, i'm very glad i bought it, i love the way it works. I highly recommend it.

One other thing is if you want it to fit in the butter compartment of your refrigerator you need to use a half a stick of butter at a time

I bought another style from another maker here on amazon it had more low profile design where you had to cut the stick of butter in half to load and it came into about four parts for cleaning
