They hold at her waist but don't apply too much pressure to her belly. I carry my weight in my lower half so have larger legs and often flowy pants fit me like regular pants, but these fit me just as they are supposed to.

If you don’t like the super high waist for me they come right up under my bust you can roll them down comfortably
