Pros

Learn how to ferment correctly is of most importance. It takes all the work out of fermenting. This type of fermentation is the most foolproof there is.

Soo handy. Expensive, but fills a need. Fills it very well, too. Appears to be durable.

Using these with masontops pickle pebbles for regular mouth jars. Used them to make some tepache right away. These pickle pipes are such an ingenious invention, love them!



Cons

The lids are easy to use and clean but let too much air in - my wonderful kimchi recipe grew thick mold after just two weeks in the pantry. One time, the lid got * in and off the jar. I recommend leak proof platinum silicone sealing lid inserts.

The metal bales rust from the salty juice that can be pushed out with the co2. This is sooooo sad bc it takes quite a bit of time to cut up the cabbage. They may only work for low fermentation items like pickles and sourkraut that have milder reaction...  Read More
