Each side has either a rougher or flat side. Came packaged flat, so no worries about unrolling and flattening it out. Stays in place, no curling on the ends.

my chair glides so smoothly on a hardwood floor! Works well with the hard wood floors. Haven't noticed any slipping on our new laminate flooring.
