Pros
It is compact and lightweight. I travel a lot and have one just for travel that stays in my suitcase. Easy to pack; lightweight, and has a variety of sounds and pitches. It's more compact and has adapters for 220v outlets.
The original device works just like the old one. Despite this one being substantially more then the rest, i would gladly pay this price again.
It works, no skipping or obvious disturbances in the sound. This unit delivers.
It covers up many outside sounds, such as barking dogs and cars. It even covers over chirping birds if you adjust the frequency and volume. It creates a soothing background noise.
Cons
It's so finicky even with several attempts to adjust. We have to jostle and play with the on switch to actually get it to turn on. It cuts out oncle it ils running.

Love the sound quality with no annoying loop
My newer plugs and cords are better made and i use one for travel while the other two never move
The first one of these i purchased gave out after 30 years after one too many falls to the floor messed up the power input port
The first two lasted for a year each before they started making occasional velcroripping noises that i assume is the sound card dying

This unit actually was about 20 cheaper than the first time i had bought it
Which would be a pretty expensive loss at 78
As they say you get what you pay for and despite this one being substantially more then the rest i would gladly pay this price again
Shipping
I took it on a short trip and slept great in the motel
We took this to the netherlands and belgium and it worked well
Packaging/appearance
Easy to pack lightweight and has a variety of sounds and pitches
It does not come with a battery pack useful for foreign travel but that is available
Competitiveness
I have tried other sound machines but this one works best for me
The brand name is different but this is identical to the 20 year machine that died
I found the american one which was among the others and put it on easy and it works

There are two sounds white noise and waves on here so if you want birds chirping or a babbling brook youre out of luck

Most noise machines including the large ones are lacking the deep base range

The highpitchedtinny treble noise does not block out the deeper noises like dogs barking and car doors slamming

The deep base like the deep rich bose stereo speaker sound is what blocks out those noises
