Pros
The polyester jacket is very well made and waterproof. The front zipper is not waterproof, but the velco flap does keep the rain out. The material is comfortable and breathable.
The blue color is a bit darker than my old one. Works great when biking in the rain. It is well made and durable.
Fit is roomy and adjustable at the cuffs and at the waist. Good adjustability and nice and snug wrists. Well fit and cozy.
Cons
This jacket is not waterproof despite whatmarmot says. My 20 yr old goretex still resists water infiltration better than this new marmot 'rain' jacket. I believe it will most likely rip the first time you encounter a branch or scrape it along a rock.
Jacket reminds me of those cheap ponchos given at the baseball game. Felt binding and this only in shirtsleeves - don't even think about a jacket. Sure it looks good - but what good is that if your dead if hypothermia.

I was pleasantly surprised by the arm length because rain jackets usually come long but this was great

Didnt get too hot and sweaty like others i have worn and the price was great for this jacket

If i buy it directly from amazon usa i can get it for about 80 includes shipping
Packaging/appearance
Had to return it though because after opening i found a small hole in the pocket
Was stuck outside due to heavy rain and water filling up the streets
Competitiveness
A light long sleeved shirt will provide the no sweat comfort that higher priced gortex usually provides
I figure if i can carry this for five to ten years ill more than break even compared to other brands ive purchased
I purchased this jacket on sale for a better price than i could find elsewhere
