Pros & Cons
Pros
The only thing i don't like is that the hood is not detachable! Fits true to size. The xxl tall fit amazing.
It's very warm, lightweight and comfy. It's soft/padded/warms up hands. Very puffy, very warm. Lightweight though warm.
The two-sided driclime fleece liner hand warmer pockets are a nice touch. The hand pockets are plenty big for stuffing ski gloves in a or a phone. It has the kind of zipper that you can open from the bottom up so as to sit comfortably while driving or... Read More
Cons
Marmot claims you cannot wash it in top loader washers requiring you to purchase a 1000. Total ripoff artists. They claim a lifetime warranty.
No inside glove drying pouches. Water repellent is non existent in this jacket. There is almost no loft at all.

Competitiveness
I havent used jackets from more premium companies like patagonia or arcteryx but this jacket is definitely an excellent value for the money
Chose this brand over what was available including northface for the lightweight nature and price
I have tried a lot of brands that claim to be big and tall but they never fit like i wanted
I have other jackets with 850g that are good to below zero
