Pros

Lbs) it goes very well with my canon rebel xsi and most lenses (50mm, 18-55mm. It has no serious problem to hold my pentax *istds with 70-300mm lens or nikon d70s with 18-70 mm. It is also stable enough for my slr with a medium-heavy 105mm macro lens ...  Read More

The quality on this tripod is first rate. Not to mention the desing is excellent. Good price for a bogen/manfrotto. I babble in this review but i'll be danged if ya don't know a lot about it now.

The unit is compact, lightweight and very compact. It fit easily in our backpack and my husband hardly noticed it was there when he was carrying it. It's so so compact you can carry it around in a little travel bag or briefcase or backpack.

The long legs allow you to get a wide stance with this tripod. The narrower stance of shorter legs is less resistant to tipping. The variable legs, and removable extension stem make this tripod an excellent addition to any outdoor photographers bag.

This little guy really rocks. I have a professional manfrotto tripod and this is a nice casual companion.

Cons

All 785 series tripod from manfrotto have a major flaw. The * that tighten the extend legs show plastic fatigue. Metal * should be used instead. I feel this is a design flaw. Many of them also have shown cracking indications already.

The thumb grip button for the ball, you press it and a second later it pops up by itself. Avoid it like the plague.
