Pros & Cons
Pros
Easy to use, no moving parts, smooth rappel. Much better than a figure 8 for rappelling and so much cheaper than a madrock. Great for one-stick rappelling, but you need a separate tether if you're a climber. Well made product and versatile.
Highlights
Quality
I’ve only climbed indoors so far and love this device for top rope because it makes things much smoother with the thicker ropes my gym has
The mammut smart has long been my favorite belay device with the only drawback being the jerky lowering action
With lead belay setup you have to detach the entire device then attach the device with the rope inserted back to ur carabiner
Competitiveness
Sure it’s not your typical madrock safe guard but for onestick rappelling it’s a great option for the price
