    They aren't cheap, but they are extremely sturdy, and i want the rig to last for many years and lots of miles, so wasn't looking for lowest-bidder cheapest, anyway.

    I was monkeying around with placement of the brackets, to ensure clearance between the kayaks, and installing some u-bolts in the kayaks for cable-locking them together at take-outs if we're shuttling, and that's when the photo was taken.
