Pros
Makita is typically very high quality and the price for a single is good, so i took a chance that the c-clip would remove easily. The retaining clip in this is great. Yes the little retaining ring as others have mentioned has to go.
The magnet seated at the bottom is more than enough to secure the bit. A strong headlamp is handy. I do metal stud framing and this bit holder is the best bit holder money can buy you. The bit is really fastened and doesn't keep falling off.
Cons
Beware it only works with makita impactx bits which are slightly smaller than the standard 1/4 driver bits that are ubiquitous. Barely fits standard hex bits. The retaining ring is simply overkill. If you can get the clip out it works ok as a magnetic... Read More

Ive had plenty of bits stay with the fastener that im driving so id prefer it be too snug than losing my bit time after timeespecially if you are driving multiple fasteners while up on a ladder
