Works great. Only drawback is that it is very messy. Wear a water resistant apron and make a shield that covers the sides and back, cardboard works great.

Stone quality - terrific japanese water stones. Runs quietly, without vibration. Works like a motorized japanese waterstone. I've never experienced the wobbling and vibration that one reviewer hsa reported.

Cons

The most obvious flaw is the steel backing plate on the stone. This allows water to seep through to the steel. Oneday, i'll have aceramic stonemadeforit with a 400 gritorso and sell the makita to a dreamer.

These blades have a very shallow angle of 22 degrees and are not very wide so i had to grind the lower side of the blade holder away to keep it away from the grinding wheel
