This is the only beginner brand i found not made in china. It is so gorgeous in person! I'm a beginner, but i think it gives off a great sound.

I purchased a kala kacemb at the same time as i bought this one and although the blue on the kala is pretty it doesnt look nearly as good in person as it does in pictures

The kalas satin finish causes the blue to be very diminished and kind of dull looking

The kala seems to be constructed a bit better than this mahalo due to differences in materials but it doesnt seem to sound as good as the mahalo does

It still does not sound as good as my luna concert uke with cedar top but it is not that far away
