This set is absolutely spectacular. Happy with my purchase. Upon receiving the set, i saw that ymi doesn't just sell this here on amazon, they are also the manufacturer and the quality is excellent.
Stone is a convex go stone with a magnet in the underside. Comes in a pair of beautiful cloth drawstring pouches which slide perfectly into the middle of the carrying tube. Bags are durable cloth with a drawstring at the top.
The only drawback on the case is that they skimped on the carry strap. The case is sturdy and with a 2 1/2 yr old standing on it and tossing it around i am very pleased to say it is holding up just fine.
It is very easy to play with and is visually apealing. Excellent for beginners.
Cons
The magnetized pieces feel flimsy and the board color is off making the set unsatisfying to play on. This board is really only suitable for putting go problems on your fridge, but it costs too much and takes up a little too much fridge door real estat... Read More

Overall this is a fabulous little set and well worth the money for the go player on the
Because the stones are magnetic they stick together in the bag
The info sheet in the package says that if you roll the board the opposite way from how it was in the case it will then lay flat
Competitiveness
For more than a decade i searched for the closest approximation and came across this one
Having a 9x9 or 13x13 on the other side of the board would have been a plus
I guess this product would be even more fantastic if there was a 9x9 goban on the flip side

The magnets on these are smaller and neater looking than those on another portable set i recently purchased from this vendor

As for the stones and carrying pouches the stones have a magnetic bottom and dont stick to eachother too much in the bag

They stick to the mat just enough so that they dont move even though you tilt the board while the stones are on

Just set up somewhere distraction free if a youngster is about because my son still wants to think they are candy chips even though he knows by now they are not
