If your phone by itself doesnt have any metal that the magnet adheres to they supply you with a metal round with adhesive to secure it to you phone or its case

I hadnt considered though that this will be useless in the winter as the phone will get too hot when the car heater is on

You will have to stick the metal piece to the back of your phone or case to get your phone to stick to this mount

Or there is an adhesive metal disc that can be used in the alternative if you prefer just to put on the outside of the case

The magnet is also super thin you attach to your phone so it doesnt prevent your cell phone case from staying on

The holding power comes from 1 the quality of the magnets and 2 the spacing between the magnets
