Pros

Works great for grabbing videos and movies from my dish network dvr and ripping em to dvd. Only draw back is that it has no tuner. I am so glad i opted for hardware that would convert straight to dvd rather than converting to a digital file first.

This is a must have for dummies on this type of thing. It works great and was priced really well. Now the recorder works as advertised.

Cons

One-star rating is being generous. Stopped working after 5 minutes. Just froze and wouldn't do anything. No packing material in magnavox box.

Still it is easy to operate and the recording quality is quite good

I kept trying and trying the equipment i was using it with the tv is not exactly a new model

I played back my dvds in a blue ray player and viewed on a hd tv and the quality was pretty good for some old 8mm tapes

The machine was refurbished and cost me 56
