Highlights
Quality
I am very happy with it so far
Very happy with it and use it daily
The icemaker in our crappy kenmore fridge crapped out right after warranty expired and would cost 500 to repair
Ice quality is good but not clear ice
Price
Much more than we expected and the price was affordable on our fixed income
Packaging/appearance
Unlike the upper midwest where the water is very close to freezing out of the tap
Competitiveness
We had fresh tasty tons of ice for everyones drinks and to keep our coolers filled
A repairman visit would cost at least 150 and more to fix
So i was tentative to purchase the magic chef
We ordered a different brand and slightly more expensive one this time around

I wish the ice wouldnt freeze together when i put it in my main freezer but it does not advertise that it is a freezer so if i empty it before it runs out of water or fills the bin it is better

This is a table top unit so picking up the 27 pound machine filled with water to move to drain it is impossible

That emerson made a threaded fitting for the drain seems incomplete as it is only able to be used if you could attach it to a drain hose

Worked just fine until we had a summer storm with lightening that popped off the electricity
