I then tried hooking up my older pc running cakewalk software midi out to the device to see if i could map the midi correctly but that didnt work either

Updateit turns out that the sensitivity dial on my adapter wasnt working

The d drum setting is the only device that uses it and if it is set too low no midi notes will pass through
