Pros & Cons

Pros

The design is sleek and modern, fitting perfectly into our setup. Build is solid and the carrying case is well padded.

There's some weirdness in usb passthrough and making sure the settings are right. It's been asked to do everything from direct event mixing to chamber music recording to web broadcasts.

Cons

Mackie / loud technologies llc support was absolutely atrocious. In my opinion it is simply inexcusable for defective and doa products to make it out the door. Return for a refund.

The usb 1-2 blend * just takes anything you plug into channel 9/10. There is no dedicated channel for your desktop sound only a knob that balances your channel inputs. The usb interface makes noise, absolutely unacceptable quality, and their response ...  Read More

The routing for the other faders is clunky and doesn't work well. The preamps aren’t what they used to be, and the power cord is awful. When used in a high stakes environment daily, these mackie profx mixers constantly have issues with the boards and ...  Read More

Quality

The sound quality is crystal clear and the effects are topnotch

If you want a good mixer that will work with the mics and main out this is what i recommend

Of course dont think you can get away with lower quality cables and lack of ground loop noise isolators because of a higher end mixer

I am concerned about the proprietary dc voltage power plug as these are traditionally the weak link of any electronic device

Price

Really good product and the price is excellent

Packaging/appearance

Had only a short time but very impressed specifically with clarity on vocals through the pa

Competitiveness

Had an older berhinger non usb that worked good but used up some valuable input slots with the computer input

To avoid this issue going forward with this and any expensive audio equipment with a similar power switch ill just have them connected to a dedicated surge protector or external power switch that is exclusive to the device

Then ill switch that on and off instead and no wear and tear will occur on the device itself

But the switch buttons on the top of the mixer have issues as well where it will affect a mono or stereo channels ability to output to the left and right channel on 12 or lr depending on set of switch buttons youre switching

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The only way to avoid this issue is to just not push the switches if you can get away with it

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

In fact you want to just not hear sound from a mono or stereo channel just use the individual mute buttons

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The worst case scenario would be that the red led on the mute button goes out but they look like they would last much longer than the tiny grey switch buttons that control which inputs output to 12 and lr

Im also sending the mono output of the microphone over fx and mon each to a different machine

But in reality its not really one mixer because theres so much rooom for error in the production of this type of equipment
