I had cracked the case of another external harddrive and the usb adapter card inside it stoped working

It was brought to my attention that it does not mean the harddrive itself may be bad

The computer sometimes wakes them up to maintain the connection but when the drives are unmounted they go to sleep

It does come with a standard usb cord for immediate use the description was not very clear on this point

The only reason that i gave it four stars has to do with installation

The installation process was straight forward and i had no trouble up until the point where i tried to put in my own external hard drive which was just barely too big

I was able to make it fit by removing the power button assembly placing in the hard drive and then placing the power assembly back in its original location
