These days most stores are carrying led versions which provide a different light seems harsher not so well suited for cooking or have 50w versions which exceed the rating the sockets have labelled on them

Hard to know longevity of a light bulb until it fails

Within a week the new bulb started flickering on and off and after a few days it just quit working completely
