Pros

It's thicker with a snap-on plate, so it looks different. Be sure to use a wire tester and make sure that there is no power before removing the old switch and then installing the new one.

Cons

Amazon advertises the switch as a new switch. Can't say much about a non working open box item. The web is full of people complaining in frustration with these things.

Switch does not really dim - two thirds of the dimmer has no effect. Ecosmart 25 watt eq bulbs flicker with this switch. It seems designed for an incandescent bulb.

Third issue - switch faceplate is loose. On and off toggle switch was stuck in the on position. They also hum! The paddle is not silent when turned on/off.

It is pre-wired.

After reading about this switch online i was happy to discover my local hardware store had the lutron led diva dimmer

Unlike the singlepack box of the same dimmer switch the 3pack doesnt include any twist caps
