Pros & Cons

Pros

Homekit is my go to automation. No loss automation items in homekit. Lutron app is easy and once you have it in there, it becomes active in apple homekit. Now, this particular model has a few more things built in, namely wireless (rf etc.

System is very simple to use and setup within the lutron app. Scheduling or creating triggers is easy. These are easy to install and setup.

If you only have one switch for both the fan and light, the easiest solution is a wireless remote control unit that you install into the base of the fan. A hardwired wall switch makes more sense and won't confuse people. Added an adjacent dimmer switc...  Read More

Fan works with alexa, siri (homekit) and google. The app responds quickly and it is a great alternative to having remote controls for every switch in the house. One complaint is a noticeable hum coming from the unit on the med-hi setting.

Lutron tech support is also great. Pricey, but worth it in my opinion. But, that is supplemental to its main purpose.

Cons

Like other reviewers have said, the preset fan settings are terrible. Until they fix the preset speeds to the correct levels, it is worthless. Easily fixed hower by sending it back. This miteiswell be on or off.

The kaseta fan controller is too slow to work as a real fan controller. You get one usable speed (high) and three speeds that are so slow that the fan is barely rotating. Requires a neutral and is wouldn't really fit in a two-gang box with the kaseta ...  Read More

Price

It well worth the price if you want the best

Packaging/appearance

I was able to install all the switches myself and replace a remaining raspberry pi running the zwave

Both the caseta and skylark models take up about the same amount of space inside the gangbox

Competitiveness

Like all the lutron products this works as advertised and is easy to control

Every switch in my house including the attic now has a lutron switch

I don’t know if the resolution falls to lutron google or both

Shied away from lutron due to the higher price and need for a dedicated hub
