You basically have to insert the key turn key 90 degrees pull the end out of the bar with key inserted a few inches and then turn the end with key still inserted as a knob to tighten or loosen grip that goes on the rails

Once you have it tightened on the rail you push the end of the bar back in and return key to starting position to lock

I couldnt really figure out the manual i kid you not but then realized if you open the lock you can then use the pin connected to that lock to flip out the outer ring and then you use the long pin as the tool to loosen or tighten the grip thingy to the roof rack

Just keep turning the long pin till the mount is tightened enough and turn the lock section in the right position so it can close again
