It has a 6mm square drive with a brass shroud around it of 11mm internal diameter so there is no access for a wrench or pliers

You need this brass “key” to fit inside the top of the valve like a little socket wrench to be able to do stuff like shut off your hot water tank so you don’t have to drain the whole tank when doing plumbing jobs such as changing a hot tap washer
