Pros

Both work equally fine. It takes a few days to get used to them, because you're going to constantly worry. They last the whole school year. They work perfectly.

Because of the way lock laces are designed, they have much more give than any shoestring can. The written instructions say to cut the laces three inches below the lock with your foot inside the shoe.

Locks are tighter and don't come loose like the original ones did. You want them tighter? Pull them tighter and lock them. Pulled the remnants out and replaced them with these.

Cons

The lockless laces are much thicker than the solomon laces so they would not thread through the boot lace loops. Putting the clip on the bottom is way too hard. There are better products that end up looking like regular laces without the extra plastic... Read More
