Pros

Livid is the 26th book in the kay scarpetta series. The character is well developed over the 25 previous books. Edgy and quick paced.

The attention to detail makes them read like true crime stories. They are suspenseful as any crime novel should be. Complicating everything is scarpetta's boss elvin reddy and his secretary/mistress maggie cutbush.

Usually it flows nicely and i can't put it down. Written well, technically spot-on. I appreciate the wrap up at the end pointing out motives.

Cons

Too many unnecessary details that she drones on and on about.
