The glass just drops in the metal clips which are installed from the manufacturer

One arrived broken and amazon replaced it quickly as i expected

The one issue is there is no clip on the bottom and the glass shade tends to flop in at the bottom making them look crooked

I gave it only 4 stars because the placement of the bulb is not in the center and it is disturbing my sense of symmetry when the light is turned on
