They actually get softer the more you wash them. It is soooo soft and keeps my baby warm on cold winter nights. The initial softness can't be beat.

We regularly buy these blankets for our friends who are having newborns. My granddaughter loves her blankets. Oh this blanket is my favorite.

Cons

This designer blanket is nowhere near as the one that is about half its price! Product details says 29x35 however a 12x12 blanket showed up. It is not the same quality as my other giraffe blanket that i purchased from nordstrom.
